Steps to Update Tungsten TotalAgility Hostname

This knowledge-base article explains the various steps involved in the event you need to update the host name of a Tungsten TotalAgility Web/App/Database Server.

NOTE: The procedure explained here should be used with extreme caution as these changes are irreversible and not supported by Tungsten Automation, formerly Kofax Technical Support.

Pre-Requisites (before changing the host name)

  1. Take VM Snapshot/Server Backup
  2. If KTA Users are created with local accounts for single-sign on, update the KTA User IDs to use the new host name

Configuration Steps (after changing the host name)

  1. If the KTA services are running with a local Administrator account, update services to run with the updated account.
  2. If SQL Server is installed on the same server (usually in test VMs or Development environments), grant sysadmin/db_owner rights to SQL Server for the new Administrator account.
  3. Update following files with the new hostname
  4. C:\Program Files\Tungsten\TotalAgility\Agility.Server.Web\web.config
  5. C:\Program Files\Tungsten\TotalAgility\Agility.Server.Web\bin\Agility.Installation.Server.Upgrade.exe.config
  6. C:\Program Files\Tungsten\TotalAgility\Agility.Server.Web\bin\Agility.Server.ExportConnector.exe.config
  7. C:\Program Files\Tungsten\TotalAgility\Agility.Server.Web\bin\Agility.Server.StreamingService.exe.config
  8. C:\Program Files\Tungsten\TotalAgility\Agility.Server.Web\bin\RegAscSc.exe.config
  9. C:\Program Files\Tungsten\TotalAgility\CoreWorkerService\Agility.Server.Core.Executor.exe.config
  10. C:\Program Files\Tungsten\TotalAgility\CoreWorkerService\Agility.Server.Core.ExportService.exe.config
  11. C:\Program Files\Tungsten\TotalAgility\CoreWorkerService\Agility.Server.Core.WorkerService.exe.config
  12. C:\Program Files\Tungsten\TotalAgility\CoreWorkerService\Agility.Server.StreamingService.exe.config
  13. C:\Program Files\Tungsten\TotalAgility\Transformation Server\Tungsten.CEBPM.CPUServer.ServiceHost.exe.config

  15. Update license server (if the current machine is the license server)
  16. Login to Designer and update the license server name to use the new host name
  17. Update SQL Server reference in TotalAgility database (if the database server host name was changed)
